frequently asked questions:

1What is the maximum number of guests you can accommodate?
Our 25 acre waterfront farm can accommodate an event as large as 500 guests.
2How much time is allotted when renting the venue?
Our Premier Reception Package allows for a six hour window of time. Adding a ceremony to the reception package will give you a total of 14 hours on the day of your event. A two hour window of time will also be given on the day before your event to hold a ceremony rehearsal.
3Can we have an outdoor wedding?
Yes, currently Weatherly Farm is an outdoor wedding venue.
4Do you have Bridal/Groom dressing rooms?
Yes, both a Bridal Suite and Groom Suite are available to rent for the day of the event. Each rental includes a light lunch for up to 12 guests each.
5Does Weatherly Farm book two events on the same day?
No, we only allow one event per day. That day (and, in fact, the entire weekend) on our property is devoted solely to your event. It's your special day, and we treat it with the care and attention that you deserve.
6Are we allowed to have only our wedding ceremony at Weatherly Farm?
Yes, however you would still pay the Premier Reception price and be allotted a six hour time frame in which to hold your event.
7Do you allow outside vendors?
Yes, we allow and encourage outside vendors. We believe you should be wary of wedding venues that try to lock you in to an agreement with their vendor(s). Our prices are stated up-front and there are no hidden fees or kickbacks. The only preferred vendor that we require you to choose is the tent vendor (see below), and we provide you with two potential vendors to choose from. We do not receive any commission from either vendor.
8Do you provide on-site catering?
We do not, however we would be happy to provide a list of caterers that have provided excellent food and service at Weatherly Farm, or you're free to bring in your own preferred caterer.
9Do you provide tables, chairs, linens, silverware, flatware, and napkins?
No, these items are offered to rent through one of our two preferred tent rental companies. Their prices are extremely competitive and lower than any we've seen from other vendors for comparable services.
10Who is responsible for cleaning tables and removing trash?
Each party shall pick up, bag and remove all trash generated in conjunction with the use of the premises. Weatherly Farm is happy to provide a trash cleanup service for an additional charge.
11Do you provide alcohol? Can we bring our own alcohol?
We do not provide alcohol, and this is a fantastic way for you to save big for your event. You may bring in your own, however a certified bartender must be present to serve your guests in an "open bar" arrangement. No cash sales of alcohol are permitted. A copy of the bartender's Certification must be provided to Weatherly Farm no later than one week prior to your event.
12Is there parking available?
Yes, we have extensive available parking. Weatherly Farm's friendly staff will be on hand to park your guests beginning one hour prior to the start time of your event. Weatherly Farm has plenty of parking and ample space for large shuttle buses for extremely large events.
13Is there nearby lodging for out-of-town guests?
Yes, many guests arriving in town for events held at Weatherly Farm have taken advantage of accommodations located in the nearby town of La Plata, Maryland, as well as hotels just south of Weatherly Farm in nearby King George, Virginia.
